Get out your bikes today for this amazing 11:30 a.m. ride that ends with a book signing at EVERYbody Reads at approximately 1:30 p.m. !!!! Explore art, culture, and the community of a unique neighborhood in Lansing, Michigan. Visit 12 murals, 5 sculptures, 3 gardens, 3 artistic bus stops, 2 parks, and an urban farm. Also check out 4 food establishments with interesting origin stories.
Along the way, listen to David King, author of “America on Two Wheels: Biking Coast to Coast in Search of Human Stories,” read excerpts about his 4-month, 3,000-mile cycling journey from San Diego to Miami. Learn about the far-off places, interesting people, unforgettable stories, and life lessons he values to this day.
This free, leisurely bike ride, co-led by Eastside neighbor Jennie Grau, will leave you wanting more — which is great, because there are 20 additional nearby sites to explore on your own.
We'll start at 11:30 a.m. Riders of all skill levels are welcome. Rain or shine, the trip will last approximately 2 hours and will include frequent stops to savor and take in this community. David will host a book signing at the Everybody Reads bookstore (2019 E. Michigan Ave.) at the end of the ride.
